Something Deeply Hidden

Sean Carroll

The book contains some interesting tid bits, but it is quite dry. I picked this book up to learn more about it & quantum mechanics but mostly weird physics stuff (bruh). The double slit experiment still blows my mind & the behaviour of light photons change depending on if we observe them. The particle travels through both slits: one in this universe and another which was generated because it had the possibility of going through both. Interference comes from the parallel universes interacting. WHAT?! (this is the many worlds theory, the book touches on the others). Us observing them, changes their behaviour which is pretty mad. I enjoyed the introduction and the history of the 'many worlds' theory. I enjoy thinking about the concept of branching universes. There's an app that you can download to split the universe which is pretty cool. The book I feel goes into too much jargon, and I fell asleep reading it a few times. I've listened to him on the Lex Fridman podcast and I feel like I got 90% of what I wanted from that podcast, as Lex understood the 'general knowledge' of the audience and asked questions to simplify it.
