Amazing that this book survived throughout history. Started dipping my toes into Roman philosophy, a reminder that humans are complex beings and we all have inner monologues. Mad that he never intended for this to be read, these are personal notes. They are very clearly mental notes for himself, I have sympathy for the writing style though as I am similar, writing short notes/thoughts for myself to come back to later.

• You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
• Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking.
